Hari Aum Sadhakas,
Yoga, often perceived in the modern world as a series of physical postures, is in truth a profound spiritual discipline rooted in the ancient wisdom of Sanatana Dharma. Far beyond mere bodily flexibility or fitness routines, yoga is a path of union: the merging of the individual soul (jivatman) with the Supreme Consciousness (Paramatman). This blog explores the deeper essence of yoga as expounded by the great sage Patanjali and its foundational place in Hindu philosophy. From asanas to the higher practices of Jnana, Karma, and Bhakti Yoga, we unravel yoga as a holistic system for transforming the body, purifying the mind, and realizing the divine within. In an age where yoga is global yet often misunderstood, it's time to return to its spiritual origins and honor its timeless purpose: union with the Self.

Question Of The Week
Q - What are the different forms of puja methods in Santana Dharma?
A - Hindu worship traditions are broadly classified into three main paths: Vamachara (left-hand path, involving esoteric and sometimes secret rituals), Dakshinachara (right-hand path, focusing on orthodox, sattvic practices like mantra, meditation, and offerings), and Madhyama Marga (a balanced path combining elements of both). Each path suits different temperaments and spiritual goals.

The Hindu Way of Life
The Chandogya Upanishad teaches the profound principle "Tat Tvam Asi" – "Thou art That". It means the individual self (Atman) is not separate from the ultimate reality (Brahman). This principle emphasizes inner realization: that divinity lies within us, not outside.
Reflection of the Week
What you give is what you attract is the universal law of reciprocity. If you desire love, you must first embody and express love. By radiating kindness, compassion, or joy, you create an environment where the same naturally returns to you. The outer world mirrors your inner state.
Mantra of the Week
yogena cittasya padena vācāṁ ।
malaṁ śarīrasya ca vaidyakena ॥
yo’pākarottamaṁ pravaraṁ munīnāṁ ।
patañjaliṁ prāñjalirānato’smi ॥
Let us bow down to the great sage Patanjali, who gave yoga for peace and purity of mind, grammar for clarity and purity of speech and medicine for perfection of health.

Ayurvedic Health Tip of the Week - Herbs with Affinity for the Heart
There are many herbs that can be taken that have a great affinity for the heart. Some of these herbs act as tonics, others are anti-hypertensive, some are antiarrhythmic, and others combine a variety of actions. Hibiscus, a flowering plant that is abundant in Asia, is especially helpful for hypertension. Rauwolfia, a herb commonly used in Ayurveda - and now also in the West - is another herb with affinity for the heart with anti-hypertensive effects. If you would like to use herbs as a support to your cardiovascular health, do reach out to a skilled practitioner who would be able to guide you accordingly.
