Hari Aum Dear Sadhakas,
Seva - a topic that can easily be misunderstood when on the spiritual path. An action that can be called a seva is not judged by the action itself, but by the attitude or mindset in which it was done. Krishna tells Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita that it does not matter if one walks on the path of karma yoga or sanyasa: When done as an offering or yajña to the Divine, both paths can lead to liberation.

The Full Blog Of This Week:
The Hindu Way of Life
Every morning as soon as we wake up we should express our gratitude to the Divine for giving us this breath, this life and the ability to see, hear, taste and smell. The next thought is to offer Him all the experiences that we have during the day through these five organs as a yajña. Then we can go through the day with ease because everything has been left in His hands and we are acting as an instrument alone.
Reflection of the Week
Our lives are a gift of the Divine.
When we live without this awareness, things will still happen for us based on our previous and current actions or karma.
If we live with this awareness and do our actions as an offering to that Divine, we will become aware of all the (daily) miracles that we are being gifted.
Question Of The Week
Q - How to deal with jealousy?
A - Jealousy is one of the most difficult traits to eradicate. When faced with it, try to analyse what is at the root of it. What is it that the other person does or how they behave, that evokes the feeling of jealousy? What we see in the other is a reflection of something they have that we feel is missing within us. When you understand this and understand what is at the root of that jealousy, develop that trait within yourself.

Ayurvedic Health Tip Of The Week
Food Combining
How many of you eat fruits together with other types of food? If you are doing this, do know that foods digest at different rates and fruits digest at one of the fastest rates. Eating fruits with other foods can then create a sort of traffic jam in your gut, because of all the different rates of digestion your gut tries to contend with. The most optimal course of action for your digestion is to have fruits away from food - at least 1/2 hr before a meal or 1-2 hours after a meal. Even amongst the different fruits, melons should be eaten alone, because of their very swift rate of digestion.

Understanding with Vanamali Mataji
On the importance of eating with hands
India is one of the places where traditionally meals are eaten with hands instead of a spoon or fork. What is the significance to eating with hands? How is it scientific and what influence does it have on our digestive system when we eat with our hands? Can eating be considered an offering to the Divine?
