Hari Aum Sadhakas,
In this week's blog as we embark on a cultural journey to the vibrant town of Pushkar, Rajasthan. Nestled in the heart of India, Pushkar is not only home to one of the country's oldest fairs—the renowned Pushkar Camel Fair—but also a place rich in history, tradition, and spirituality. In our exploration, we'll delve into the transformation of this age-old fair, tracing its roots from a hub for camel and livestock trade to a grand cultural spectacle that now captivates thousands. From the opulent adornment of camels to the spirited performances of Rajasthani culture, the Pushkar Camel Fair has evolved into a kaleidoscope of colors, sounds, and flavors. But beyond the festivities, we'll also uncover the spiritual significance of Pushkar, where pilgrims converge to immerse themselves in the sacred waters of Pushkar lake, seeking absolution and blessings. Join us in this enchanting escapade as we unravel the tapestry of Pushkar's Camel Fair, where tradition and modernity converge in a celebration that transcends time.

Pushkar is one of the two places in India which has a temple to Brahma. Pilgrims come to this festival to bathe in the holy waters of Pushkar lake to be absolved of their sins. The full moon day and the day just before it are considered to be the most auspicious time of the year for bathing in the lake. Those who bathe on the day of the full moon are said to receive special blessings
Reflection of the Week
Those who bathe on the day of the full moon are said to receive special blessings. Legend has it that this lake was created by Brahma, the creator of the universe when a lotus dropped from his hand into the vale. The lotus changed into a lake. Hence the place got its name “Pushkara,” which has many meanings including “lotus.”
Ayurvedic health tip of the week
What are 2 easy things you can do for a stomach upset?
Sometimes, the best thing for a bad tummy is fasting on liquids or very light, non-oily/non-sugary/bland foods, whilst also taking something like 'activated charcoal' to help your system clear out whatever is troubling it. Activated charcoal acts like a sponge to soak up problematic toxins and pathogens that may be lurking in one's digestive tract when you are facing a stomach upset. Fasting on light foods or liquids also allows the body to focus all its resources on eliminating what is troubling the system rather than trying to digest a heavy meal. These are 2 easy things you can do for your body. Check with your healthcare practitioner on where to get activated charcoal from and how to use it, and then keep it handy at home so that you have it when you need.
