Hari Aum Dear Sadhakas,
As the vibrant festival of Navaratri approaches, we are invited to reflect on the profound connection between the Divine Mother and our own spiritual journeys. This sacred time, marked by nine nights of worship, offers a chance to cleanse our inner gardens, starting with the fierce energy of Kali, followed by the blessings of Lakshmi, and culminating in the wisdom of Saraswati. Each day serves as a reminder to transcend the illusions of maya, reconnect with our true selves, and embrace the transformative power of the goddess in her many forms. Join us as we explore the deeper meanings behind Navaratri and its timeless relevance in our quest for enlightenment.
Jai Mata Di

Question Of The Week
Q - What is the significance of the number 108?
A - It is said that 1 stands for the Supreme, 0 for this world of illusion and 8 stands for Prakriti or Nature. Without that 1 both the world and Prakriti would be shunya or 0! This number also represents the spiritual steps that an aspirant has to take to proceed from his outer gross body to his inner true divinity. This is why japa malas are composed of 108 beads and all mantras are chanted 108 times because each chant represents one step forward from our limited, material self towards our highest spiritual self. Each chant is believed to bring you 1 unit closer to the divinity within.

The Hindu Way of Life
Every creature and every aspect of creation is nothing but the energy of that Supreme which displays itself in various forms. Nature, God and the human being are all parts of the same energy. They are not separate but always joined in an ecstatic union which is the basis of human life and indeed of all life.
Reflection of the Week
Life's ups and downs can feel like a roller coaster, and while we can't control the ride itself, our attitude can make all the difference. Embracing the twists and turns with positivity can transform even the toughest moments into opportunities for growth and joy.

Ayurvedic health tip of the week
Kasturi Manjal for the Skin
My favourite topical anti-inflammatory herb is Kastura Manjal, or Curcuma aromatica, from the Curcuma genus, which is the same as Turmeric (Curcuma long). For acne, small blemishes, redness/irritation, I like to take a 1/2 tsp of Kasturi Manjal, mix water into it to make a thin paste, and then apply generously over the area for at least half an hour. I keep the paste moist on my skin as it can dry out very fast. Results are noticeable almost right away.

Celebrating with Vanamali Mataji
Join Vanamali Mataji on Her Guidance on Navaratri. The nine days of the Navaratri Pooja are normally divided into three sets of three. The first three days are given over to Kaali Maa because She is the one who will forcibly remove all negativity. So one should pray to Her to remove all negativity. When negativity is no longer there and one's mind is clear, then Lakshmi Maa is invited for the next three days to sow Her beautiful auspiciousness, happiness, and spirituality. All the great things that one needs to have a good life. And She will come and sow the seeds in the garden of our minds. The final three days are given over to Saraswati Maa because only in such a garden which has been weeded out by Kaali Maa and received the beautiful seed of positivity by Lakshmi Maa, the wonderful flowers of spirituality will blossom and Saraswati Maa will bless you with all jnana and wisdom.
