Question Of The Week
Q - What are the eight limbs of Yoga?
A - The Eight Limbs of Yoga, outlined by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, form a comprehensive system for achieving spiritual enlightenment and self-realization. They include Yamas (moral restraints), Niyamas (ethical observances), Asanas (physical postures), Pranayama (breath control), Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (union with the divine). Together, these limbs guide practitioners toward holistic well-being, mental clarity, and union with the higher self.

The Hindu Way of Life
"Saucha" one of the four legs of Dharma in Vedic philosophy, emphasizes the importance of "purity" or "cleanliness." In the context of yoga and spiritual practice, saucha refers to both physical and mental purification. It involves cleansing the body, mind, and environment to achieve a state of inner and outer purity.
Reflection of the Week
Our relationship with Krishna or any god transcends the boundaries of human friendships, as it is eternal, offering spiritual nourishment and fulfillment that goes beyond the limitations of worldly relationships. It provides solace, guidance, and companionship in times of joy, sorrow, and uncertainty. It offers a sense of reassurance that one is never truly alone and that there is always a source of unconditional love and wisdom to turn to.
Ayurvedic health tip of the week
Autoimmune Illnesses
Autoimmune illnesses, the wide umbrella term for conditions in which the body's immune system starts attacking its own tissues. What is the Naturopathic Medicine approach for treating autoimmunity? These are some of the first things that are assessed: chronic infections including a history of infections, hormonal imbalances, nutritional and genomic health, allergies, toxicity, and anything else that can change the oxidative load in the balance that could disrupt the normal immune system's balance. In treatment, a Naturopathic Doctor would focus on the gut, bringing back the oxidative balance, as well as any obvious active infections early on. If genetic mutations exist that need extra nutritional support, this must be addressed Any hormonal imbalances should be investigated and treated too. Once the above are addressed, a process of detoxification can be begun, depending on the state of health of the patient. If an autoimmune illness is in its early stages, abnormal bloodwork and symptoms can resolve within a year. Usually the longer the illness, the more deeply rooted it has become in the body, and the longer the treatment.

Pilgrimage with Vanamali Mataji
In March 2024, Vanamali Mataji traveled to the state of Maharashtra and made wonderful experiences visiting both ancient and modern temples around Mahabaleshwar. In this episode of the Mahabaleshwar series, Vanamali Mataji visits the ancient Mahabaleshwar Mandir. Vanamali Mataji shares, how not only the temple, but the area surrounding the temple have come to be known as Mahabaleshwar. The Mandir houses a Shivalinga in the shape of a Rudraksh and it is said that Shiva comes to visit every night. Right next to the Mahabaleshwar Temple is the Atibala Mandir, equally as beautiful, though smaller in size. Enjoy Vanamali Mataji's experience in these beautiful temples.
