The Vedas and Puranas both contain references to the war between the devas and asuras. It seems as if this is a continuous thing that never stops. This is because our world is one of duality, and we can never have good without bad. Joy/sorrow, evil/good, night/day—these are ever recurring. They are known as counter correlates. One cannot exist without the other. Thus, devas cannot exist without asuras and vice versa. So, we can never do away with one of them alone. If they are to be eradicated, both have to be destroyed! These devas and asuras exist both in the outer world as well as in our own minds. They are constantly at war with each other—now one wins and now another. It is a cosmic game that never fails to please the creator!! However, our culture—the Sanatana Dharma—is the only ideology that has taught us the method of surmounting both and reaching the heights of divinity!
It is only to be expected that this holy land of Bharat, which has given to the human being everything that is exalted and supreme in life, should also give everything that is degenerate and despised!! People always fear anything that they think to be superior to themselves. They constantly try to throw filth and muck on such exalted human beings and on such exalted ideals. How can the pig, who delights in eating offal and filth, ever understand or relish ghee and milk and curd!! Let the pigs wallow in their own slush. They will not like anything else.
Then the question is, “Are the devas to keep quiet and take everything lying down? Christ advocated 'turning the other cheek,' but I’ve yet to see any Christian who does that. In fact, all the major wars of the world were fought by those who called themselves Christians. At least, Islam does not resort to such hypocrisy. They boldly declare that their Holy Book tells them to kill the infidels. This they have done with great success in most parts of the world. But for some reason in Bharat, even though they have been trying for centuries, they don’t seem to have succeeded.
Hindus have sat back and relaxed in their armchairs because they are sure that the avatara will come and protect them. After all, in the Puranas, the devas have always defeated the asuras in the end. But don’t forget that there has always been a lapse in time when the devas had to hide and suffer enormous pain and suffering before the balance of power was restored. That it will be restored eventually is a conclusive point because this universe has been built on the foundation of dharma! AND it is a point to be noted that the Sanatana Dharma is the only religion that has been built upon the rules of the cosmic dharma and that is why it has been called the Sanatana Dharma and will never be destroyed. But let us not forget that it has faded into oblivion many times in the past. It looks as if this time has come!
According to the rule of duality that governs this world, the time has come for the devas to suffer the ignominy that is being heaped upon them not just by outsiders who cannot be expected to know any better BUT by the asuras within our own country who should have known better! But then what can you expect from people who name their children after the most hated and asuric humans the earth has produced? Every dog has its day, and this is the day for the Stalins and Hitlers and Mussolinis of the world to rear their ugly heads in order to condemn something they can never understand, much less appreciate. It needs guts to throw the first stone, but once that is cast, all the other mongrels will start growling and yapping and snapping at the heels of their very masters!! They will all compete with each other in adding their own filth to that which is being heaped on the head of the greatest and most glorious ideology the world has ever produced.
The Bharatiyans are the inheritors of this stupendous knowledge that declares the human being to be divine in nature!! But we have degenerated to the state of the pigs and the mongrels. At least they know nothing better so they can be forgiven but we who believe that we have reached the height of human evolution just because we have produced saints like Ramakrishna, Ramana Maharishi, and a host of rishis and siddhas—are we to be forgiven!! Our religion has never taught us to turn the other cheek. No doubt, it has taught us tolerance but never to the point of accepting the insults that are being heaped on the head of our mother and our culture. Fight we must, if by fighting alone we can save our culture which is the only one that can save the world! If her children don’t fight for their mother who will?
Eradicate that malarial mosquito which will bite its own brethren. Only then can we hand over the baton of the Sanatana Dharma to our next generation. Non-violence, no doubt, is part of our heritage but not at the cost of sacrificing the very dharma which has taught us to be non-violent! The whole of the Bhagavath Gita is a clarion call to all right-minded individuals who believe in the existence of a cosmic dharma to take up arms and rid this country of those who dare to challenge this dharma even if they belong to their own family.
Let all right-minded believers of the Sanatana Dharma rise up and resort to appropriate measures to put down this ten-headed Ravana who has dared to raise his ugly head again and again in order to kill the epitome of dharma as embodied by Rama!
