The Hindu Way of Life
Ishwar Pranidhan teaches us to accept the outcomes of ones actions as the will of the Divine. This encourages a balanced perspective on life where individuals engage wholeheartedly in their actions while maintaining inner peace and detachment from outcomes. It is a principle that can bring profound spiritual and emotional benefits to those who practice it.
Reflection of the Week
The discomfort or difficulty often associated with change stems not from the change itself, but from our reluctance or unwillingness to accept and adapt to it. Embracing change with openness and flexibility can potentially reduce the stress and pain typically associated with transitions or new situations.
Ayurvedic health tip of the week
Alcoholism
Let's talk about alcoholism. What is considered 'safe consumption' of alcohol for men (not women): no more than 14 drinks/week and no more than 4 drinks/sitting. Technically, this averages 2 drinks/day. However, my advice is usually to abstain as much as possible and if one is consuming alcohol, to drink as little as possible. Some of the risks of alcohol consumption are putting the body into a state of Vitamin B deficiency as well as developing neuralgias or nerve pains. If one is in the habit of consuming alcohol and also aging, one is at a higher risk because of decreased tolerance to alcohol due to changes in the hippocampus (a part of the brain). Alcohol can also worsen many common diseases including diabetes, hypertension, chronic heart failure, liver health, osteoporosis, Alzhemeir's and dementia, as well as depression and anxiety. Many medications that the elderly may be on do not mix well with alcohol, which is an important consideration. If you or your loved ones are consumers of alcohol, please note the above and advise them to support their lifestyle so that they can achieve their best heatlh.

Pilgrimage with Vanamali Mataji
In this episode of the Mahabaleshwar series, Vanamali Mataji is paying a visit to the Krishnabai Temple, close to the Krishna River. It is a very ancient mandir with wonderful sound reverberations. It is said, it is also where the Krishna River has its origin.
Though next to the Panchaganga Mandir, it is not as crowded and allowed for a wonderful meditation inside the temple. At the end of the video, Vanamali Mataji is seen doing Abhishekam to the Shivalinga inside. Enjoy this wonderful visit to Krishnabai Mandir.
