Question Of The Week
Q - What is the significance of Narsimha Avatar in Dashavatara?
A - Narasimha Avatar signifies the divine intervention that protects righteousness while transcending all limitations. By manifesting as neither man nor beast, neither during the day or the night, Lord Vishnu upheld his devotee Prahlada’s faith and dissolved the tyranny of ego represented by Hiranyakashipu. This avatar emphasizes that divine justice operates beyond logic and safeguards unwavering devotion. It also symbolizes the destruction of arrogance and the triumph of dharma through surrender and faith.

The Hindu Way of Life
“एतदपि गमिष्यति” - “This too shall pass” conveys the truth that no situation, emotion, or phase in life is permanent. Both joy and sorrow are transient and change with time. Remembering this brings patience in difficult moments and humility during success. It helps cultivate inner balance, detachment, and mental peace.
Reflection of the Week
Difficult people play an important role in our personal growth by testing our patience and emotional maturity. They compel us to practice tolerance, acceptance, and self-control rather than reactive behavior. Through such interactions, we become more aware of our own triggers and limitations. Ultimately, they help us develop inner strength and compassion.
Mantra of the Week
Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaha
Sarve Santu Niramayaha |
Sarve Bhadrani Pashyantu
Ma Kaschid Dukha bhag-Bhavet |
Aum Shantihi Shantihi Shantihi ||
Let everyone be content, let everyone be healthy, let us see only auspiciousness and let there be no sorrow anywhere. Om peace, peace, peace

Ayurvedic Health Tip of the Week - Oil Pulling
After brushing your teeth and scraping your tongue, take a mouthful of coconut or sesame oil and swish it around your teeth and gums for at least 10 minutes. This beneficial practice is another part of the Ayurvedic daily routine and helps to balance your oral microbiome and deal with any lurking bacterial infections etc. Be sure not to swallow any of the oil and after 10 minutes, spit it out into some wadded newspaper and bin it, or into your garden, rather than into the sink/basin so that you don’t create an oily build-up in your drainage pipes.
