The Sanatana Dharma
The Bhagavad Gita says that desire is the root cause for anger. When we desire an object and we don’t get it, we get angry and if this is not controlled, we lose our senses and end up by doing things which will eventually bring us to ruin. Anger is perhaps the greatest cause for the break-up of relationships.
Reflection of the Week
Unless we learn to control our anger we will never be able to live a stress-free life.

लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यं
वन्द विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥
“I meditate on Lord Vishnu who has a most peaceful appearance, who is lying on the serpent bed of Adishesha, from whose navel has sprung the lotus of the world and who is the Lord of all the gods. He is the substratum of the whole universe and is boundless like the sky with a bluish colour. His form radiates auspiciousness and he is the beloved of the goddess Lakshmi. His eyes are like lotus petals and he is attainable only by yogis who are adept in meditation. I worship that all-pervading Being who removes the fear of worldly existence by making us realise that we are eternally connected to him. I worship him who is the Lord of all the three worlds!”

What is causing my high blood pressure?
Hypertension, or an elevated blood pressure, is a common condition faced by many today. Often times the root cause of hypertension is not established, so here are a few tips in helping you to investigate what the root cause might be with your practitioner. 1) Sleep apnoea - do you snore at night? Do you sometimes wake up breathless or choking in the middle of the night? If so, you may have undiagnosed sleep apnoea, which can often be a causative factor of hypertension. Ask your practitioner if this is reasonable cause for concern and if they can help you in working this up further. 2) Stress and anxiety - how are your stress levels? Do you notice a direct correlation between stress and elevated blood pressure? If so - anxiety could be a big piece to managing your hypertension, further to meds. Consider addressing your stress and anxiety as a critical part of your hypertension management if so and do try to prioritize it.

Wonderful article, many thanks. Fear seemed to me to be more the basis of anger...but it is clear, it can be traced back to desire! Blessings Sri
