Hari Aum Dear Sadhakas,
Celebrating the great Adi Shankaracharya on May 12th, 2024.
Not only has he gifted us with the extraction of the Bhagavad Gita from the Mahabharata, but he also shared and composed numerous hymns for our spiritual evolvement. May we celebrate him by reading one of his many works and by reflecting on how we can incorporate his teachings into our lives.
Jaya Jaya Shankara!

Question Of The Week
Q - What is the aim of mantra chanting?
A - Chanting mantra has a variety of benefits, if chanted and pronounced properly. Among others, it aids in clearing the energies of a space, it helps to calm and focus the mind before settling into meditation and it also can evoke certain effects, e.g. healing, prosperity, liberation, digestion, the list is endless. It is, however, very important to have correct intonation and pronunciation, otherwise its effects will be negative. It’s best to listen to a proper recording of a mantra first before starting oneself. Over time, it will be easier to chant according to that recording.

The Hindu Way of Life
Everyone should practice “Swadhyaya” or “Self Study” of Vedic texts and scriptures. It helps to gain to gain a deeper understanding of oneself and one's connection to the divine. It involves introspection, self-awareness, and self-improvement using the vast knowledge in Shashtras.
Reflection of the Week
Success is often defined in terms of materialistic results. Redefining it to new beginnings instead will bring about a new level of motivation and spiritual evolvement.
Ayurvedic health tip of the week
How You Think About Health?
The question to ask your Naturopathic Doctor is not, "What do I take for curing my condition X?" The question to ask is, "What kind of interventions will help me, who has condition X, to restore my health?" The difference here is that in Naturopathic Medicine, we treat the whole person. The interventions taken for person A with condition X can be different from the interventions taken for person B with the same condition X. It is important for you to also recognize this, so that in your journey to recover from ill health, you understand the holistic approach needed for your recovery and follow it accordingly without prescribing to any single protocol.
Our trusted Naturopath is: Dr. Poorna Menon, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine

Understanding with Vanamali Mataji
The close relationship between the Earth and the planets/astral bodies was recognized a long time ago by Vedic astrology. Vedic astrology also knew that only those planets closest to us can affect us.
Therefore, in the counting of the days of the week, only those grahas (planets) were taken whose vibration/light is within the range that affects the Earth. That is why all Hindu festivals are connected with some planet and especially the moon which is the closest to us.
Find out which planets are influencing our lives, as well as the colors associated with them. Click here to watch as Vanamali Mataji explains why there are seven days in a week and what their relationship to planets are.
